Ask Your Practice a Question Instead of Hunting for a Report
"What's overdue?" "What did we bill this month?" "Which clients haven't sent their documents yet?" Those are simple questions. Answering them shouldn't require opening a report builder, picking filters, and hoping you picked the right ones.
That's the actual problem FirmLync's natural-language reporting is built to solve. Type the question in plain English, right from the dashboard, and get an answer. No report menu to navigate, no filters to configure first.
What it actually does
You type a question the way you'd ask a person, not the way you'd configure a report. Things like "what's overdue this week," "what did we bill in August," or "which clients are missing a signed engagement letter." FirmLync reads the question, pulls the relevant data from your practice, and gives you a direct answer, not a dashboard you then have to interpret yourself.
What it's built on
It's not magic and we don't want to pretend it is. It works against the data already in your FirmLync account, clients, engagements, invoices, workflow status, document requests. The more complete your data is (clients set up correctly, workflows actually being used, invoices actually logged), the more useful the answers are. It's answering questions about your actual practice, not guessing.
What it doesn't do
It's not a general-purpose chatbot, and it's not going to give you tax or accounting advice. It answers questions about your own firm's data. It also won't catch something that was never entered into the system in the first place. If a client's document request never got logged, asking "what's outstanding" won't surface it, because there's nothing for it to find. Good data in the system is still the foundation. This removes the step of digging through reports to find what's already there.
Why we built it this way
Most practice management tools treat reporting as something you configure once and then re-run. That works fine for a recurring monthly report, but it's a clumsy way to answer a quick question in the middle of a workday. We built this specifically for the second case, the moment you just need to know something right now, without stopping to build a report to find out.
It's included with every FirmLync plan. Not a premium add-on, not something you have to ask sales to unlock. If it's useful, we want every firm using it, not just the ones who negotiated for it.
